The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has reduced the price of jet fuel by more than Tk 15 per liter for domestic flights, marking the second price cut in just 15 days.

The revised rates, announced in an official directive on Sunday, also bring down fuel costs for international airlines operating out of the country.

According to the latest adjustment, the price of aviation fuel for domestic routes has been slashed by Tk 15.67, setting the new rate at Tk 150.41 per liter.

Meanwhile, the price for international flights has been lowered to $0.9808 per liter, down from the previous rate of $1.0823.

This downward revision follows a significant price cut on May 23, when the commission decreased the domestic rate by Tk 39.57, bringing it to Tk 165.88 per liter. Jet fuel prices had previously surged in multiple phases, reaching a peak of Tk 227 per liter on April 7.

With these recent consecutive cuts, the price of domestic jet fuel has seen a cumulative reduction of Tk 57 per liter over the past two months, offering substantial relief to the aviation sector.
