Independent Member of Parliament Rumeen Farhana has expressed deep concern and frustration in the National Parliament over the deterioration of the country's law and order situation. Presenting alarming statistics on murders, abductions, muggings, robberies, and violence against women during the government's first 100 days in office, she said the situation in the country has reached a highly fragile state.

She made these remarks on Monday while raising a notice of urgent public importance under Rule 71 during a parliamentary session chaired by Deputy Speaker Kaisar Kamal.

At the beginning of her speech, Rumeen Farhana noted the absence of the Home Minister from the session. “I expected the Home Minister to be present today. But when I looked ahead, I saw that his seat was empty,” she said.

Citing findings from a report by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Rumeen Farhana claimed that the crime rate had risen alarmingly during the government's first 100 days.
