The government has sent DMP’s former additional deputy commissioner Golam Saklain into forced retirement over his extra-marital affairs with film actress Pori Moni back in 2021.
The Home Ministry issued a notification on Thursday, confirming the disciplinary measure against Saklain.
Saklain, currently serving as additional superintendent of police at the Jhenaidah In-Service Training Centre, was retired by order of the president.
The disciplinary action followed forensic analysis of mobile phone data, which reportedly revealed evidence of Saklain’s repeated visits to Pori Moni’s home at various times.
Sources said Saklain subsequently began visiting the actress's home regularly, and the two were seen going out together. Pori Moni later confessed to the relationship after her arrest on August 4, 2021.
