3 public univs get new VCs

Government has appointed vice-chancellors (VCs) to three public universities, official sources said.

Ministry of Education issued three separate notifications in this regard on Monday.

Universities are Netrakona University, Habiganj Agricultural University, and Kishoreganj University.

Professor Md. Khaled Uzzaman has been appointed VC of Netrokona University. He teaches at the Institute of Education and Research of the University of Rajshahi.

Professor Md. Mozammel Haque from the Department of Food Engineering and Tea Technology at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has been appointed VC of Habiganj Agricultural University.

Md. Habibur Rahman has been appointed VC of Kishoreganj University. He is a professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Rajshahi.

Each VC will serve a four-year term. As chancellor, the President retains the authority to cancel any of the appointments at any time, if required.
