UGC gets 3 new members

Government has appointed three full-time members to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a four-year term, official sources said.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on Sunday, newly appointed members are Prof Md Mehdi Khan of Dhaka University’s Department of Population Sciences, Prof Dr Md Aslam Hossain of DU’s Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Chowdhury of Department of Vascular Surgery at Bangladesh Medical University.

The appointments have been made under the amended Bangladesh University Grants Commission Order, 1973. The notification said the appointments will be effective from the date of their joining.
