ACC summons former-BSS MD Mahbub

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) summoned former Managing Director of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Mahbub Morshed to appear before the commission in connection with an inquiry into allegations of irregularities and corruption.

According to an official notice issued on Thursday, Mahbub Morshed has been asked to appear at the ACC headquarters in Segunbagicha at 3:00pm on June 29 to provide his statement and submit relevant documents.

The notice, signed by ACC Deputy Director and investigating officer AKM Mahbubur Rahman, stated that an inquiry officer had been appointed to investigate the allegations and submit a report to the commission.

“The statement of Mahbub Morshed and relevant information are required for the purpose of the investigation,” the notice said.

The former BSS chief has been instructed to bring his national identity card, passport copy and other documents relevant to his statement while appearing before the commission.

ACC Deputy Director Md Akhtarul Islam said the commission had exercised its statutory authority to summon the former official.

“This notice has been issued under those legal provisions,” he said.
