A Dhaka court on Sunday deferred the submission of the further investigation report in the murder case of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha, after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to file the report.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam fixed July 15 as the new date for submitting the report.

According to the case statement, Hadi was shot by armed assailants on December 12 last year at Box Culvert Road in Paltan while returning home after Friday prayers.

He was flown to Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died on December 18.

The case was filed on December 14 with Paltan Police Station by Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Mancha. On December 20, the court added a murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code following the victim’s death.
