4 held with huge amount of fake money in Dhaka

Police have arrested four people from the capital’s Shahbagh area after recovering 40 lakh fakes money. 

The arrestees are - Nafiz Ahmed, 26, Md Rahmat Ullah, 26, Yakub Ali Chowdhury, 39, and Rubel, 42.

They were arrested after conducting a raid at Motalib Plaza under Shahbagh police station on Saturday night, according to the Niaz Mehdi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

He said that on Saturday night, some people were staying in a shop on the 5th floor of Motalib Plaza under Shahbagh police station with a huge amount of fake money. Based on such information, a raid was conducted at the place and they were arrested. 

During this, 40 lakh fakes money were recovered from their custody. During the initial interrogation, the arrestees confessed to being involved in the fake money business for a long time.
