Different security forces of India on Monday conducted a coordinated exercise near the country’s strategically important “Chicken’s Neck” corridor.

The joint drill was held in Jalpaiguri area to strengthen security around this critical corridor. The primary objective of the exercise was to ensure coordination and rapid response among different security forces during emergency situations, according to online media reports.

The exercise was carried out by the country’s border guarding force, SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), the West Bengal Police, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The drill took place at the Jaldhaka Bridge, a key transport link in Jalpaiguri district, to prepare for responding to sudden security threats.

The main purpose of the exercise was to ensure swift and effective coordination among various security agencies during any major crisis or emergency. In addition to senior SSB officials, the joint drill was attended by police personnel from the Dhupguri and Mainaguri police stations, as well as officials of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Jalpaiguri Road railway station.

Notably, Jaldhaka Bridge, located in the Dhupguri area of Jalpaiguri district, is an important and sensitive piece of infrastructure for transportation and security in the “Chicken’s Neck” region.

The exercise simulated how paramilitary personnel would quickly take up positions and coordinate with the local police and railway police to bring the situation under control if any security threat emerged at the bridge during an emergency or wartime scenario.
