The government has taken punitive action against two employees of the Directorate of Land Records and Surveys after corruption allegations against them were found to be true.
According to sources at the Ministry of Land, Muhammad Wahiduzzaman, former copyist-cum-bench assistant of Rangpur Sadar Upazila, currently posted at the Bera Settlement Office in Pabna, was dismissed from service after an investigation found the corruption allegations against him to be true.
Besides, Rezvin Akter, record keeper at the Parbatipur Settlement Office in Dinajpur, was awarded a minor penalty of demotion by one grade in the pay scale after the allegations against her were substantiated.
The ministry said the action was taken on the basis of specific allegations of misconduct and corruption as part of its efforts to ensure transparency in land administration and establish a corruption-free public service.
It said it is maintaining a “zero-tolerance” policy against corruption and remains committed to ensuring accountability in the land management system.
