Five more children died with measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while laboratory tests confirmed 154 more new measles cases during the same period.
Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) regular measles bulletin issued on Thursday, July 2, 2026, confirmed the statistics adding that a total of 93 died from confirmed measles infections since March 15, 2026. During the same period, 631 children with measles symptoms died.
Among the deaths with measles-like symptoms, 272 were reported in Dhaka Division, the highest among all divisions. Rajshahi Division recorded 88 deaths, followed by Sylhet (82), Mymensingh (62), Chattogram (51), Barishal (40), Khulna (28) and Rangpur (8).
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 1,02,993 children with measles symptoms have sought treatment at hospitals across the country. Laboratory tests have confirmed measles infection in 12,286 of them.
During the same period, 86,411 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of them, 82,759 have been discharged after completing treatment.
