
Bank Asia PLC has established another modern two-tier solar-powered irrigation project in Bogura, aimed at supporting marginal farmers by ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply for agriculture.
The project has been implemented with the technical support of the Rural Development Academy (RDA) Bogura as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR),
The solar-powered irrigation system is capable of extracting and supplying 50,000 liters of water per hour, significantly enhancing irrigation facilities for local farmers while also ensuring access to clean water for household use.
The environmentally friendly project is expected to improve agricultural productivity, reduce irrigation costs and promote sustainable farming practices in the area.
The project was officially handed over to the local Farmers' Association on Sunday says a press release.
Dr Md Abdul Majid Pramanik, Director General (In-charge) of RDA, Bogura, was the chief guest and Tahmidur Rashid, Senior Executive Vice President of Bank Asia attended the program as the special guest.
Ferdous Khan, Director of RDA, Bogura, presided over the programme. Members of the Farmers' Association and other distinguished guests attended the event.
