Power Div opens flood control room

 
The Power Division on Monday has opened a special control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the country amid the ongoing flood situation.

According to an office order, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Masudur Rahman Masud, the control room, will remain operational every day, including public holidays, from 7:00am to 9:00pm. 

In the event of emergencies, coordination will continue beyond the scheduled hours through mobile communication, it reads.

The order said 19 officials and employees of the Power Division have been assigned to operate the control room till July 31.

They have been instructed to immediately coordinate with designated focal point officials of the relevant power distribution utilities or companies if any disruption or technical fault occurs anywhere in the country, and to take prompt steps to restore electricity supply.

The officials have also been directed to inform higher authorities whenever necessary and maintain round-the-clock coordination with the Power Division's integrated hotline, 16999.
