State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin on Sunday said the government is committed to putting people first and building Bangladesh into a self-respecting nation.
He made the remarks while addressing a rice distribution programme for flood-affected people organised by the Khagrachhari Hill District Council at Chongrachari Government Primary School in Mahalchhari upazila.
The state minister said the government and the BNP were carrying out relief activities in disaster-hit areas regardless of political affiliation and that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman would always stand beside the country's marginalised people.
