Rupali Bank PLC launches public awareness campaign on Bangla QR

 
State-owned Rupali Bank PLC has organised a public awareness campaign on the universal QR code-based digital payment system ‘Bangla QR’, introduced by Bangladesh Bank, to raise awareness among customers and the general public and expand cashless transactions.
The campaign was held in Moghbazar in the capital on Tuesday , with the bank’s Managing Director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam in attendance. He said Bangla QR would make digital transactions easier, safer and more affordable. He stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure its widespread use in building a cashless economy, says a press release. 
As part of the campaign, leaflets were distributed at Moghbazar intersection, in front of the TCB Bhaban in Karwan Bazar, Nayatola and Rampura. The public and businesses were also informed about the various benefits of using Bangla QR and encouraged to expand cashless transactions.
Deputy Managing Director Hasan Tanvir, General Managers Sheikh Munzur Karim and Tanvir Hasnain Moin, Chief Information Technology Officer Md Ahidul Islam Sarker, and other senior officials of the bank were present.
Managers and officials from the bank’s Dhaka North and Dhaka South divisional offices, Dhaka Central zonal office, TCB Bhaban Corporate Branch, and Moghbazar, Malibagh, Khilgaon, Nayatola and Rampura branches also participated in the campaign.
