US envoy meets NCP convener

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen met National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Nahid Islam, along with other senior party leaders, at the party’s central office in Bangla Motor on Wednesday.

NCP Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Joint Convener and National Women’s Power Central Convener Monira Sharmin, other party leaders, and officials from the US Embassy in Dhaka were also present at the meeting.

Following the meeting, Nahid Islam said the discussions focused on Bangladesh�"United States bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

In a Facebook post, Nahid described the meeting as “fruitful,” writing, “Today, a fruitful meeting was held with US Ambassador Brent Christensen at the NCP office. We discussed key issues related to bilateral relations and also talked about ways to further strengthen mutual cooperation.”
