M. A. Khan Belal elected chairman of Mercantile Bank

M. A. Khan Belal has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercantile Bank PLC during the bank's 490th board meeting, held today (30.07.2026) at its head office. Prior to this election, he served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the bank.

With extensive experience across trade, industry, shipping, and banking, M. A. Khan Belal has established various successful companies in Bangladesh and currently serves as the Chairman of the Samrat Group of Companies. He is also the elected President of the Noakhali Zilla Samiti. Beyond his business ventures, he is highly recognized for his benevolent contributions to society through various social welfare initiatives, education, healthcare, and social development activities.

Additionally, he is the founder of several schools, madrasas, mosques, and other socio-cultural organizations in Begumganj.
