MP GM Nazrul Islam’s second wife's body found hanging

Police recovered the hanging body of Mosammat Mariam Khatun, 19, the second wife of Satkhira-4 constituency MP GM Nazrul Islam, from a flat at NAM Bhaban in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Sunday September 20.

The body was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside Flat 203 on the third floor of Building No. 5 of NAM Bhaban, police said.

Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Md Ibne Mizan confirmed the matter around 7:40 PM.

He said police reached the scene after receiving the information and saw the body hanging from the fan through a window of the room.

Forensic teams from the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have been called to the scene. Police said they will enter the room after the forensic teams arrive.
