Every Child Deserves Safety

Dear Sir,

The growing violence against children has become one of the gravest challenges facing our society. Reports of rape, abuse and murder of children appear almost every day, exposing our collective failure to ensure their safety. Disturbingly, both girls and boys are victims, although abuse against boys often remains hidden because of social stigma.

Monitoring reports by Ain o Salish Kendra and the Human Rights Support Society reveal that more than 200 children suffered violent deaths or severe abuse during the first few months of this year alone. These shocking figures demand immediate action, not mere expressions of concern. 

The government must strengthen child protection, ensure swift justice and strictly enforce existing laws. Parents, schools and communities should also remain vigilant. Protecting every child is our shared responsibility and the foundation of a safer, more compassionate Bangladesh.
