The United States has urged its citizens in the Middle East to exercise increased caution amid ongoing regional tensions.

The US Embassy in Amman issued a security alert advising American citizens to remain vigilant, warning that the situation in the region is changing rapidly.

The embassy also advised citizens to prepare for possible flight cancellations and temporary airspace closures.

In the alert, the embassy described the Iranian government as “unpredictable”, citing recent attacks in different parts of the Middle East without prior warning or provocation.

The warning also referred to Egypt and noted that the absence of previous attacks on US interests or businesses in a particular country does not guarantee its future safety.

The embassy urged American citizens across the region to closely monitor developments and take necessary precautions to protect their safety.
