Bangladesh Ansar stamped their authority on the Global Insurance National Kho Kho Championship by clinching both the men's and women's titles, capping a commanding campaign at the Paltan Ground in Dhaka recently.
In the men's final, Ansar produced a disciplined and energetic display to overcome Bangladesh Police 27-18, keeping their opponents at arm's length with sharp tactical execution and relentless intensity. The victory saw Ansar lift the coveted national crown after another impressive run through the tournament.
The women's final proved to be a far tighter affair, with every point fiercely contested. Ansar, however, held their nerve in the decisive moments to edge past Nilphamari 6-5, sealing a memorable double and underlining their strength across both divisions.
The champions in each category received prize money of Tk 30,000, while the runners-up collected Tk 20,000.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was presided over by Bangladesh Kho Kho Federation President AHM Ziaul Haque. Federation Vice-President and Global Insurance Director SM Sarwar Alam presented the trophies and prize money to the winners.
Also present at the ceremony were Global Insurance Director Syed Badrul Alam, Federation General Secretary Md Rayhan Uddin Fakir, Tournament Committee Chairman Abdul Muqtadir Belal, and Federation Vice-Presidents Fazlur Rahman Babul and Matiur Rahman Babul.
The championship attracted widespread participation from across the country, with 34 district teams and two services teams taking part.
