Ex-health adviser Dr AR Khan passes away

Major General (Retd.) Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, former adviser to the 1996 non-party caretaker government, passed away on Wednesday night at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka due to age-related complications.

He was 100 years and six months old.

His funeral prayer will be held after Zuhr prayer at CMH's central Jam-e-Masjid. 

According to family members, Dr Khan's birth year was recorded as 1332 in the Bengali calendar, based on a diary preserved by his mother.

During his long professional career, Dr Khan has served as a physician at several key military cantonments across Bangladesh. Following his retirement, he remained actively involved in the country's healthcare sector and social welfare initiatives.
