Shakib Khan regrets past mistakes: ‘I wish I hadn’t made them’

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has opened up about mistakes in his personal life, saying he sometimes regrets decisions he made in the past and wishes he could have avoided them.
In a recent television interview, the actor spoke candidly about his more than two-decade-long career, personal life and the ups and downs he has experienced in the film industry. Asked whether he had made any mistakes in life, Shakib admitted that he had made “many mistakes” but did not specify what those mistakes were.
“I have made many mistakes. Sometimes I feel I could have avoided making them. There are many things that people learn about even before I get the chance to say them. Sometimes, when I look back, I regret some of the things,” he said.
Asked why those mistakes happened, Shakib attributed them to fate. “It’s fate. If those mistakes had not happened, perhaps things would have been much smoother now. But everyone makes mistakes in life,” he said.
Reflecting on his past, the actor said he sometimes struggles with those memories when he is alone. “When I sit quietly with myself, these calculations of life bother me. But what can I do? Some things cannot be changed even if we want to. Once we realise something was a mistake, we cannot knowingly repeat it,” he said.
During the interview, the presenter also indirectly asked Shakib about his two former wives, Apu Biswas and Shobnom Bubly. “They are both a part of my life. But I don’t want to say anything about them. I keep these matters to myself,” Shakib said.
Asked whether he ever gives them advice or warnings, he replied, “Sometimes I tell them when I meet them.”
Shakib also spoke about exaggerated reports about him on social media. According to the actor, news about him often spreads even before an incident actually takes place, while his name is sometimes linked to incidents with which he has no connection. He said such speculation has made him more introverted.
Meanwhile, Shakib Khan is looking forward to his upcoming film Soldier. The movie is expected to hit cinemas around October this year. The actor said he now wants to spend the rest of his life enjoying himself and staying happy.
