Mercedes seats are leaving drivers 'Branded'

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the German automaker Mercedes-Benz over an alleged design defect involving its raised metallic AMG seat logos which overheat in sunlight and burns on the passenger’s skin.
Legal filing of this incident surfaced publicly after an attorney named Rob Freund shared excerpts of the court documents on the social media platform X (formerly twitter).
The lawsuit stated, certain Mercedes-AMG vehicles feature metallic logo badges on the front seats where the passengers’ upper back, neck or shoulders make direct contact. Prolonged interaction caused severe burn marks on the passengers’ skin.
The complaint alleges that these badges reach dangerous temperatures when vehicles are parked in the sun.
One plaintiff, Los Angeles resident Gabriel Lahijani, reported receiving second-degree burns on May 31, 2026, after entering his vehicle wearing a tank top.
A dermatologist documented first- and second-degree burns, describing the injury as "AMG inscribed".
Another plaintiff, Karendeep "Karina" Bath, posted videos on social media showing a burn mark on her shoulder caused by the metallic badge after leaving her car parked outside.
The lawsuit accuses Mercedes-Benz of failing to disclose this burn hazard to consumers, seeking compensation and corrective measures for affected vehicle owners.
