Modi, JD Vance discuss deepening India-US strategic partnership

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke by phone with US Vice President JD Vance on Saturday night, discussing ways to further deepen the India-US “Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.”

In a post on X, Modi said the two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in various key areas. He also congratulated Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, on the birth of their son and conveyed his best wishes to the family.

The US administration has not yet disclosed details of the issues discussed during the call.

The conversation came amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. On Saturday, Vance said Washington was working to establish a safe passage for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz while maintaining pressure on Iran.

The latest Modi-Vance call comes as India and the US continue close coordination on strategic cooperation, regional security and international issues.
