The cross-examination of actress Pori Moni in a sexual harassment case against businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud and two others has been deferred to November 30.
Pori Moni was scheduled to appear before Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-9 on Sunday, but failed to reach the court despite her lawyer informing the tribunal that she would attend.
Her lawyer, Nilanjana Rifat Surbhi, said the court had fixed noon for the cross-examination, but Pori Moni could not arrive on time due to traffic congestion. The court subsequently set November 30 as the new date.
Pori Moni filed the case with Savar Police Station on June 14, 2021, accusing Nasir, Tuhin Siddiqui Aumi and four unidentified people. Police later charged Nasir, Aumi and Shahidul Alam.
The tribunal framed charges against the three accused in May 2022. Pori Moni’s testimony began in November that year and was completed in September 2024.
