Messi bids farewell to father in Rosario

Lionel Messi, who was on vacation in Argentina a few days ago after hearing the news of his father's death, returned to his hometown of Rosario. 

His father's funeral was held there.

Jorge Messi,who was the global star's emotional anchor and agent since childhood, passed away on Saturday following a battle with cancer aged 68.

The funeral was held privately in a cemetery in the town of Perez, near Rosario, with close relatives and friends present. The entire event was kept secret and under tight security.
