The Dhaka Metropolitan CNG Autorickshaw Drivers’ Unity Council has accused 13 CNG filling stations in the capital of refusing to supply gas to autorickshaws.
The organisation also demanded that all CNG filling stations in Dhaka introduce separate nozzles for autorickshaws and that action be taken against stations allegedly denying them fuel.
The demands were made in a letter sent to the president and secretary general of the Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association on Monday.
According to the council, autorickshaw drivers are facing various difficulties while purchasing CNG, with some stations allegedly refusing to serve them.
The stations named in the complaint are Ismail Talukdar Filling Station, Rupantar CNG Station and Star Pump Station on Airport Road; Intaco CNG Station, Navana CNG Station, Rajina CNG Station, Nazma CNG Station, Nessa & Sons CNG Station and Mohona Pump CNG Station on Mirpur Road; and City CNG Station, Clean Fuel CNG Station and Southern Group CNG Station on Tejgaon Road.
The council urged the owners of the listed stations to take steps to ensure CNG supply to autorickshaws.
The letter was signed by Md Golap Hossain, member secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan CNG Autorickshaw Drivers’ Unity Council.
