Khaleda Zia’s 82nd birthday observed in Malaysia

BNP Malaysia and its affiliated organisations observed the 82nd birthday of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia with a discussion and prayer session in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night.

The programme was held at Pitaghar Restaurant in Bukit Bintang after Isha prayers.

Speakers highlighted Khaleda Zia’s political career, her role in the movement for democracy and her contributions to what they described as establishing people’s rights.

BNP Central Executive Committee member and Malaysia BNP General Secretary Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain attended the event as chief guest. Malaysia BNP Vice President Talha Mahmud chaired the programme, moderated by party Organising Secretary Mirza Salha Uddin.

Several BNP leaders and representatives of its affiliated organisations in Malaysia also attended the programme.

The speakers praised Khaleda Zia’s leadership, political experience and commitment to the country, saying her political ideals would continue to inspire future generations.

They also expressed confidence in BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman’s leadership and said the party was working to establish a democratic and prosperous Bangladesh based on its “Bangladesh First” philosophy.

The programme concluded with prayers for the souls of Ziaur Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko, and for Khaleda Zia’s good health and Tarique Rahman’s long life.
