Cocktail explodes in front of Mirpur Cinema Hall

A cocktail exploded after being thrown at a moving private car in front of Sony Cinema Hall in Mirpur-1, Dhaka, on Sunday (November 8) night, damaging the vehicle but causing no reported casualties.

The incident occurred around 8:45PM when unidentified motorcyclists allegedly hurled the explosive at the car while it was passing through the roundabout. The cocktail exploded on the bonnet, creating a hole and damaging its paintwork.

The motorcyclists fled immediately after the explosion, according to the report.

Mirpur Model Police Station confirmed the incident. Police said security had been strengthened in the area and an operation was underway to identify and arrest those responsible.
