Bangladesh’s ‘The Difficult Bride’ enters London film festival competition

‘The Difficult Bride’, a film by Bangladeshi filmmaker Rubaiyat Hossain, has become a part of the main competition of 70th BFI London Film Festival after getting selected at Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals.

The film is competing for the Best Film award at the film festival. The event will take place in the United Kingdom between October 7 and 18 with 10 films in the main competition section.

Previously, the film had the distinction of becoming the first-ever film from Bangladesh to get selected at the Venice and Toronto film festivals.

This psychological horror thriller is based around the Mayfair Beauty Parlour of Dhaka city and revolves around a girl who experiences supernatural happenings while making preparations for her marriage ceremony.

In the lead, the film features Zainin Karim making her acting debut along with other actors like Azmeri Haque Badhon, Rikita Nandini Shimu, Sunerah Binte Kamal and others.
