Bangladesh's women have wasted little time turning their attention to the next challenge after the squad for the upcoming Asian Cup and Asian Games was confirmed.

With the selection process now settled, the focus has shifted to preparation. The players are busy working in training as they build towards a demanding period that will begin with the ACC Women's Asia Cup in Dubai and later continue at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

Nigar Sultana Joty will once again lead the side, with Nahida Akter serving as vice-captain. The squad brings together a mixture of established internationals and younger players, giving the coaching staff several options to explore before the competitive action begins.

Bangladesh's immediate assignment will be the Asia Cup, where they have been placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia.

The group presents different challenges for the Tigers. Sri Lanka will provide the toughest test on paper, while the other two matches will offer Bangladesh an opportunity to build momentum and assess their combinations under tournament pressure.

That makes the current training period particularly important.

The coaching staff will be looking at more than just individual form. Batting combinations, bowling plans, fielding standards and the balance of the playing XI will all need to be settled before the first match.

The return of Sharmin Akter Supta adds another experienced option to the batting department. At the same time, the squad includes several younger players who will be looking to establish themselves on the international stage.

Among them are Dilara Akter, Juairiya Ferdous, Sobhana Mostary and Shorna Akter, while players such as Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter have already shown that they can play important roles at this level.

For Joty, the responsibility is equally significant. As captain, she will be expected to combine the experience of the senior players with the energy of the younger members of the squad.

And the schedule means there is little room for complacency.

The Asia Cup is only the beginning. The same squad is also expected to represent Bangladesh at the Asian Games, making fitness, consistency and squad depth increasingly important.

For now, however, the message inside the Bangladesh camp is simple.

The squad has been selected. The next stage has begun.

The Tigresses are no longer preparing to prepare-they are preparing to compete.
