Bangladesh's Fortis FC will face Kuwait's Qadsia SC, India's FC Goa and Tajikistan's FC Regar-TadAZ in the group stage of the AFC Challenge League 2026/27.

The draw was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, placing Fortis in Group C alongside three formidable continental rivals. The group-stage matches will be played in Kuwait in a centralised, single-round-robin format from 17 to 23 October.

Fortis booked their place in the main draw after a historic 1-0 victory over Kyrgyz Republic's FC Muras United in the preliminary stage at the Bashundhara Kings Arena. Mohammad Ibrahim struck the decisive goal in the 52nd minute after a fine lay-off from Pa Omar Babou, sending the Bangladesh club into the group stage of an AFC competition.

The continental challenge, however, has exposed an area requiring urgent attention. Fortis created several opportunities against Muras United but managed only one goal, prompting coach Masud Parvez Kaiser's side to consider strengthening their attacking department.

The club is particularly keen to recruit a foreign striker capable of leading the line and providing the cutting edge needed at Asian level.

With Qadsia, Goa and Regar-TadAZ standing in their way, Fortis know the road ahead will be no walk in the park. For Pa Omar Babou, Ibrahim and their teammates, however, the continental stage now offers a chance to test their mettle and fly the Bangladeshi flag on a bigger footballing canvas.
