Relatives of the Bangladeshis, who died at the hotel fire in Kolkata’s New Market Area, have been waiting for their bodies to return to the country.
The bodies will return home by Saturday as stated by Benapole International Checkpost Immigration OC, Ferdous Hossain Khan.
Debashish Dutta's family were from Aruapara in Kushtia and Babu hailed from Aminbazar in Savar.
Ahmed Babu’s relatives have been waiting for his body to return home at the Benapole International Checkpost area since Friday.
The one who came to collect Babu’s body was his brother, Monir Hossain. He said Babu went to Kolkata for business, where he was staying at the hotel until the fire broke out.
His death was confirmed by the Indian High Commission on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, relatives and journalists have left Kushtia to collect the bodies of Debashish Dutta and his family.
As of writing, there has been no official cause stated as to how the fire started.
