President moves to Bangabhaban today

 
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will move to Bangabhaban today (Sunday), beginning his formal activities from the official residence of the country’s highest constitutional office.

The President’s Office confirmed that Mirza Fakhrul will leave his government residence on Minto Road at 10:50am.

Mirza Fakhrul took oath as the country’s 23rd president at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday. 
He was elected president on Thursday. Of the 349 members of the Parliament, 343 cast their votes. BNP candidate Mirza Fakhrul won 255 votes, while his rival Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, the candidate of the Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance, received 88 votes.
