BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said the government is not responsible for the ongoing fuel crisis, attributing it to the ongoing war.
He made the remarks on Sunday morning after paying tribute at the graves of former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Rizvi said an LNG cargo has already arrived and gas supply and pressure have increased. He added that gas supply from the Maheshkhali LNG terminal has started returning to normal after repairs.
“The government is not responsible for the current fuel crisis. The crisis was caused by the war,” Rizvi said, adding that the fault at the Maheshkhali LNG terminal had also been repaired.
Speaking about his new responsibilities, Rizvi said expired committees of various BNP-affiliated organisations would be dissolved and new committees formed. He said new leaders would be brought in to lead the organisations and the process would continue.
BNP leaders and activists from Barishal district and city units, Gaurnadi and Agailjhara upazilas, as well as leaders of various affiliated and associate organisations, were present.
