Cute-BSPA Sports Carnival 2026 begins Tuesday

 
The Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) is set to stage its annual Sports Carnival 2026, with popular consumer brand Cute once again joining the two-week sporting festival as sponsor.

The curtain will rise on Tuesday, August 25, at the Home of BSPA, bringing together more than 100 members of the country's long-standing association of sports journalists and writers.

The details were announced at a press conference held at the Dutch-Bangla Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) on Sunday. BSPA Vice-President Talha Bin Nazrul, General Secretary Sudipta Ahmed Ananda and other officials were present at the briefing.

The opening ceremony is expected to be attended by Mousumi Industries Limited Chairman and World Archery Asia and Bangladesh Archery Federation President Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol as the chief guest, alongside National Sports Council Director (Sports) Zahed Parvez Chowdhury.

This year's carnival will feature 12 events across eight sporting disciplines, ensuring there will be something for everyone as BSPA members step away from the press box and into the sporting arena.

The disciplines are archery, carrom, table tennis, chess, swimming, athletics, card games and shooting. Carrom and table tennis will feature both singles and doubles events, while athletics will include the 100 metres and shot put. The card games will comprise call bridge and twenty-nine All competitions will be held at venues within the Dhaka National Stadium Complex, as the members prepare to swap pens and notebooks for sporting battles in a celebration of competition and camaraderie.

With nearly 300 members, BSPA remains one of Bangladesh's oldest organisations representing sports journalists and writers.
