Humayun Kabir, Shama Obayed get separate portfolios

The government has allocated separate portfolios to State Minister for Foreign Affairs-1 Humayun Kabir and State Minister for Foreign Affairs-2 Shama Obayed Islam, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

Under the allocation, Humayun Kabir will assist the Foreign Minister in handling bilateral and multilateral affairs, matters concerning non-resident Bangladeshis, and any other issues assigned by the Foreign Minister.

Shama Obayed will oversee matters related to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, human rights, research and innovation, environment and climate change, the creative economy, LDC graduation, ICT, maritime law and marine resources, global health diplomacy, and cultural and sports diplomacy.

The circular said the allocation of responsibilities has received the approval of the Prime Minister.
