Exit polls following Israel's latest parliamentary election indicate a tight deadlock between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his primary challenger, former military chief Gadi Eisenkot, leaving neither coalition with a clear path to an outright majority.

Despite recording the highest voter turnout since 1999, initial projections show Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc falling significantly short of a governing majority in the 120-seat Knesset.

According to projections by Israel’s Channel 12 News, Netanyahu’s ruling bloc is expected to slump from its previous 68-seat total down to 52 seats. Meanwhile, Eisenkot’s opposition bloc is projected to secure 49 seats. Arab-led political parties reported significant gains, with exit polls suggesting they may secure record representation in the upcoming parliament.

Addressing supporters following the release of the polls, Netanyahu remained optimistic, asserting that the outcomes demonstrated strong support for his right-wing coalition among a "decisive majority of the Zionist and Jewish public."

However, he forcefully rejected any possibility of forming a governing coalition with Arab parties, labeling them "anti-Zionist" and accusing them of supporting the destruction of Israel.

Official final results are expected within the next 48 hours, though political analysts note that coalition-building negotiations could extend over days or weeks. Potential outcomes remain open to prolonged political deadlock, the formation of a minority or unity government, or a call for fresh elections.
