BHPHWC fears disruption

Bangladesh Hajj Pilgrims and Haji Welfare Council (BHPHWC) has expressed concerns over the publication of fake news and the transfer of a dedicated and experienced official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, warning that the move could create serious hurdles in managing Hajj 2027.

In a joint statement, BHPHWC President Dr Abdullah Al Naser and General Secretary Abdul Baten said the reported transfer of Joint Secretary Dr Md Manjurul Haque to another ministry had raised the concern among stakeholders in Hajj management.

According to the statement, Saudi authorities have issued a roadmap for Hajj 2027, outlining a number of tasks and deadlines that need to be completed within a stipulated time span. 

Leaders of the organisation said Dr Manjurul Haque’s transfer at this crucial stage could disrupt the continuity of Hajj preparations and adversely affect overall Hajj management.

Any interruption in the implementation of activities in line with the Saudi Hajj roadmap can create complications for Bangladeshi pilgrims.
They described Dr Manjurul Haque as an experienced and dedicated official.
