President urges EC to protect its trust

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the Election Commission (EC) to ensure that all upcoming elections are free, fair and neutral. He said the commission must protect its institutional image and maintain public trust.

He made the remarks when a four-member EC delegation met him at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Thursday.

The delegation was led by Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin. Election Commissioners Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Md Anwarul Islam Sarker and Brigadier General (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanauallah were also present.
