Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 detained 15 people, including two alleged top criminals and drug dealers from Geneva Camp, during overnight raids across different parts of the capital on Monday.
A foreign-made pistol, a one-shooter gun, ammunition, samurai swords, a machete, heroin, gunpowder, yaba pills and a stolen motorcycle were recovered during the operations.
RAB-2 Deputy Director (Media) Major M Mubin Rahman Tapas said on Tuesday that the raids were carried out in Mohammadpur, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Tejgaon Industrial Area and Jatrabari based on intelligence information.
Mohammadpur’s alleged top Geneva Camp criminal and drug dealer Md Zahid Kaderi alias Molla Zahid was detained from Bottola with 900 grams of heroin. Another alleged top criminal Ibrahim Sarker alias Rabbi was detained from Lautola with a 7.65-bore foreign-made pistol, a magazine and two rounds of ammunition.
This official also said teenage gang leader Riad Hossain alias Rajab Ali was detained in the same area with a machete while another man Ramzan was held with a samurai sword.
