US urges citizens to stay alert in middle east

The US government has cautioned that the security environment in the Middle East may get more complicated considering the ongoing military tensions in the region. The US State Department has advised American citizens in the region to be extra cautious.

The statement came out on Tuesday (September 1) night from the Bureau of Consular Affairs of the US State Department. According to the statement, the security environment could change quickly due to ongoing tensions, resulting in unexpected situations.

US citizens were advised to prepare themselves for cancellation of flights, closure of airspaces, and disruption in transportation. They were also asked to keep themselves updated about any information coming from airports and airlines.

Moreover, the US State Department has warned that there is a threat of attacks by Iran and its allied forces against the interests of Americans and places related to American citizens outside the US such as US companies.

American citizens living in Middle Eastern nations were advised to keep themselves updated about security advisories and instructions issued by the local government agencies and, if needed, contact the closest US embassy or consulate.
