Bayern cruises to 4-1 victory over Osnabrück

Bayern Munich mounted a swift comeback to secure a comfortable 4-1 victory over second-division side VfL Osnabrück in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, recovering from a surprise early deficit.
Osnabrück stunned the defending DFB-Pokal champions in the fifth minute when Robin Meißner scored an extraordinary long-range goal.
However, Vincent Kompany's side responded rapidly as Harry Kane scored his first goal of the season to equalize.
Tom Bischof put Bayern ahead before halftime, while Michael Olise extended the lead in the second half before Kane converted a late penalty to seal the win.
Osnabrück aimed for a major upset against the current Bundesliga champions.
Kompany fielded a strong starting lineup featuring Kane, Olise, Luis Díaz, and Joshua Kimmich, retaining six players from the squad that defeated Stuttgart 5-1 last weekend.
The home side opened the scoring following a defensive mishap by Bayern newcomer Jonathan Tah.
Tah slipped while attempting a routine clearance, allowing Meißner to win possession from Kim Min-jae.
Meißner struck a spectacular 30-yard volley into the top corner, giving Osnabrück a 1-0 lead.
Bayern restored parity 13 minutes later.
In the 18th minute, Kimmich delivered a precise chipped pass over two center-backs to find Kane.
The England captain cushioned the ball with his head before executing a low volley past the goalkeeper to make it 1-1.
Bayern capitalized on effective pressing to take the lead.
Bischof intercepted a pass in Osnabrück's half and combined with Olise, who fed Díaz near the 18-yard box.
Díaz took a first-time shot that Osnabrück goalkeeper Jonas Krumrey failed to hold, allowing Bischof to pounce on the loose ball and score with a clinical angled finish.
Olise extended Bayern's advantage to 3-1 in the 73rd minute.
Following a weak clearance attempt by defender Robin Fabinski, Olise seized the ball and dinked a finish over the advancing Krumrey.
Bayern sealed the 4-1 victory late in the match via a penalty.
Kane stepped up to execute the spot-kick, placing his shot precisely into the bottom corner beyond Krumrey's reach.
