Elderly man ran over by train in Dinajpur's Phulbari

An elderly man was killed after being run over by a train in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 PM on Friday (September 4) near the Phulbari railway crossing, when he fell under the Panchagarh Express, which was travelling from Panchagarh to Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Isar Uddin,70, from Tarerdanga village in Ward No. 6 of Phulbari Municipality.

According to eyewitnesses, Isar Uddin entered the railway tracks while crossing the railway line, ignoring the warning signal. At one point, he accidentally slipped and fell under the moving train. He died at the scene.

Phulbari Railway Station Master Abdul Latif confirmed the incident and said the Parbatipur Government Railway Police (GRP) had been informed. A decision regarding the body will be taken after police arrive at the scene.
