Two more rescued alive in Nepal

Two more people a woman and a Chinese national have been rescued alive on the 10th day of the floods and landslides in Nepal. The country’s army confirmed the matter. 

On Saturday, 64-year-old Chandika Shrestha was rescued from the fourth floor of her home in Nuwakot. Separately, a Chinese national was rescued from a tunnel at the Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project. He was later taken by helicopter to a local hospital.

So far, three people have been rescued alive from the Trishuli Hydropower Project. On Friday, two Nepali nationals were rescued alive from the tunnel at the project.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal on August 26 has risen to 1,342. A total of 4,886 people, including foreign nationals, are still missing.
