Iran to resist until ‘aggressors are regretful’: Pezeshkian

TEHRAN, Sept 8: Iran will continue its resistance with strength until the “aggressors” become regretful and its rights are defended, President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday, pointing to a less conciliatory tone from Tehran.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been against war and has considered the preservation of people’s interests and regional security to lie in refraining from conflict. However, just as it has boldly risen to defend against aggression up to this day, it will continue this resistance with strength until aggressors become regretful and will remain guardian of people’s rights,”Pezeshkian posted on X.

Iran’s acting defence minister, Brigadier General Majid Ibn Reza, has rejected Washington’s assertions that Tehran lacks the technical capability to hit US warships enforcing the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Speaking to state broadcaster IRIB, Ibn Reza responds to Washington’s scepticism by stating that Tehran has the necessary technology.

“God willing, you will see; you will see the results,” he said when asked if Iranian forces could strike vessels enforcing the blockade.�"AL JAZEERA
