A depression has developed over the north-western Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood, increasing the possibility of strong wind squalls over the north Bay of Bengal and coastal regions of Bangladesh and its seaports.

This was mentioned in the marine weather bulletin of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday (September 10).

Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been instructed to maintain local cautionary signal No. 3 in view of the high seas.

All fishing vessels/trawlers operating in the Bay of Bengal have also been directed to stay close to the coastline and sail with caution.

On the other hand, light to moderate rain/thundershowers along with temporary gusty winds may take place in many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions until 9 am tomorrow (September 11).

Heavy rainfall may occur in some areas, while temperatures during day and night throughout the country would remain almost the same.
