Army Chief heads to Japan for Asian Games

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka for Japan on a four-day official visit to attend the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) confirmed his departure in a press release on Wednesday (September 16).

During the visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, who also serves as president of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, will attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games in Japan’s Aichi-Nagoya region.

He is also scheduled to attend various sporting events during the Games and hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the Asian Games and Olympic associations.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions on sports cooperation and matters related to Bangladesh’s participation in major international sporting events.
