A US Air Force Air National Guard F-16 fighter jet crashed in Traverse City, Michigan, on Thursday.
The fighter jet belonged to a Texas Air National Guard unit. The Texas unit said in a Facebook post that the pilot ejected before the F-16 Fighting Falcon hit the ground.
No casualties or damage were reported from the crash site, according to the Air National Guard.
An investigation will be launched to determine what caused the crash.
The Air National Guard is a reserve component of the US Air Force, with its forces mainly responsible for protecting US airspace.
Michigan Senator Gary Peters said authorities were closely monitoring the situation and collecting information about the incident.
